Al-Ala

The Most High

Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

Sabbihisma Rabbikal A’laa

(1) Exalt the name of your Lord, the Most High,

Allazee khalaqa fasawwaa

(2) Who created and proportioned

Wallazee qaddara fahadaa

(3) And who destined and [then] guided

Wallazeee akhrajal mar’aa

(4) And who brings out the pasture

Faja’alahoo ghusaaa’an ahwaa

(5) And [then] makes it black stubble.

Sanuqri’uka falaa tansaaa

(6) We will make you recite, [O Muhammad], and you will not forget,

(7) Except what Allah should will. Indeed, He knows what is declared and what is hidden.

Wa nu-yassiruka lilyusraa

(8) And We will ease you toward ease.

Fazakkir in nafa’atizzikraa

(9) So remind, if the reminder should benefit;

Sa yazzakkaru maiyakhshaa

(10) He who fears [Allah] will be reminded.

Wa yatajannabuhal ashqaa

(11) But the wretched one will avoid it –

Allazee yaslan Naaral kubraa

(12) [He] who will [enter and] burn in the greatest Fire,

Summa laa yamootu feehaa wa laa yahyaa

(13) Neither dying therein nor living.

Qad aflaha man tazakkaa

(14) He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself

Wa zakaras ma Rabbihee fasallaa

(15) And mentions the name of his Lord and prays.

Bal tu’siroonal hayaatad dunyaa

(16) But you prefer the worldly life,

Wal Aakhiratu khairunw wa abqaa

(17) While the Hereafter is better and more enduring.

Inna haazaa lafis suhu fil oolaa

(18) Indeed, this is in the former scriptures,

Suhufi Ibraaheema wa Moosaa

(19) The scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
