ٱلفِيل
Al-Fil
The Elephant
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
(1) أَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡفِيلِ
Alam tara kaifa fa’ala rabbuka bi ashaabil feel
(1) Have you not considered, [O Muhammad], how your Lord dealt with the companions of the elephant?
(٢) أَلَمۡ يَجۡعَلۡ كَيۡدَهُمۡ فِي تَضۡلِيلٖ
Alam yaj’al kaidahum fee tadleel
(2) Did He not make their plan into misguidance?
(٣) وَأَرۡسَلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ طَيۡرًا أَبَابِيلَ
Wa arsala ‘alaihim tairan abaabeel
(3) And He sent against them birds in flocks,
(٤) تَرۡمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٖ مِّن سِجِّيلٖ
Tarmeehim bihijaaratim min sijjeel
(4) Striking them with stones of hard clay,
(٥) فَجَعَلَهُمۡ كَعَصۡفٖ مَّأۡكُولِۭ
Faja ‘alahum ka’asfim m’akool
(5) And He made them like eaten straw.
