Ar-Rahman
The Beneficent
بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
(١) ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ
Ar Rahmaan
(1) The Most Merciful
(٢) عَلَّمَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ
‘Allamal Quran
(2) Taught the Qur’an,
(٣) خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ
Khalaqal insaan
(3) Created man,
(٤) عَلَّمَهُ ٱلۡبَيَانَ
‘Allamahul bayaan
(4) [And] taught him eloquence.
(٥) ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ بِحُسۡبَانٖ
Ashshamsu walqamaru bihusbaan
(5) The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation,
(٦) وَٱلنَّجۡمُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ يَسۡجُدَانِ
Wannajmu washshajaru yasjudan
(6) And the stars and trees prostrate.
(٧) وَٱلسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلۡمِيزَانَ
Wassamaaa’a rafa’ahaa wa wada’al Meezan
(7) And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance
(٨) أَلَّا تَطۡغَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡمِيزَانِ
Allaa tatghaw fil meezaan
(8) That you not transgress within the balance.
(٩) وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلۡوَزۡنَ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِ وَلَا تُخۡسِرُواْ ٱلۡمِيزَانَ
Wa aqeemul wazna bilqisti wa laa tukhsirul meezaan
(9) And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance.
(١٠) وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلۡأَنَامِ
Wal arda wada’ahaa lilanaam
(10) And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures.
(١١) فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٞ وَٱلنَّخۡلُ ذَاتُ ٱلۡأَكۡمَامِ
Feehaa faakihatunw wan nakhlu zaatul akmaam
(11) Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates]
(١٢) وَٱلۡحَبُّ ذُو ٱلۡعَصۡفِ وَٱلرَّيۡحَانُ
Walhabbu zul ‘asfi war Raihaan
(12) And grain having husks and scented plants.
(١٣) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan
(13) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(١٤) خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلۡصَٰلٖ كَٱلۡفَخَّارِ
Khalaqal insaana min salsaalin kalfakhkhaar
(14) He created man from clay like [that of] pottery.
(١٥) وَخَلَقَ ٱلۡجَآنَّ مِن مَّارِجٖ مِّن نَّارٖ
Wa khalaqal jaaan mim maarijim min naar
(15) And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.
(١٦) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan
(16) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(١٧) رَبُّ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقَيۡنِ وَرَبُّ ٱلۡمَغۡرِبَيۡنِ
Rabbul mashriqayni wa Rabbul maghribayn
(17) [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets.
(١٨) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan
(18) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(١٩) مَرَجَ ٱلۡبَحۡرَيۡنِ يَلۡتَقِيَانِ
Marajal bahrayni yalta qiyaan
(19) He released the two seas, meeting [side by side];
(٢٠) بَيۡنَهُمَا بَرۡزَخٞ لَّا يَبۡغِيَانِ
Bainahumaa barzakhul laa yabghiyaan
(20) Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses.
(٢١) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan
(21) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٢٢) يَخۡرُجُ مِنۡهُمَا ٱللُّؤۡلُؤُ وَٱلۡمَرۡجَانُ
Yakhruju minhumal lu ‘lu u wal marjaan
(22) From both of them emerge pearl and coral.
(٢٣) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan
(23) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٢٤) وَلَهُ ٱلۡجَوَارِ ٱلۡمُنشَـَٔاتُ فِي ٱلۡبَحۡرِ كَٱلۡأَعۡلَٰمِ
Wa lahul jawaaril mun sha’aatu fil bahri kal a’laam
(24) And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains.
(٢٥) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(25) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٢٦) كُلُّ مَنۡ عَلَيۡهَا فَانٖ
Kullu man ‘alaihaa faan
(26) Everyone upon the earth will perish,
(٢٧) وَيَبۡقَىٰ وَجۡهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلۡجَلَٰلِ وَٱلۡإِكۡرَامِ
Wa yabqaa wajhu rabbika zul jalaali wal ikraam
(27) And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.
(٢٨) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(28) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٢٩) يَسۡـَٔلُهُۥ مَن فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ كُلَّ يَوۡمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأۡنٖ
Yas’aluhoo man fissamaawaati walard; kulla yawmin huwa fee shaan
(29) Whoever is within the heavens and earth asks Him; every day He is bringing about a matter.
(٣٠) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(30) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٣١) سَنَفۡرُغُ لَكُمۡ أَيُّهَ ٱلثَّقَلَانِ
Sanafrughu lakum ayyuhas saqalaan
(31) We will attend to you, O prominent beings.
(٣٢) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(32) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٣٣) يَٰمَعۡشَرَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِ إِنِ ٱسۡتَطَعۡتُمۡ أَن تَنفُذُواْ مِنۡ أَقۡطَارِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَٱنفُذُواْۚ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلۡطَٰنٖ
Yaa ma’sharal jinni wal insi inis tata’tum an tanfuzoo min aqtaaris samaawaati wal ardi fanfuzoo; laa tanfuzoona illaa bisultaan
(33) O company of jinn and mankind, if you are able to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You will not pass except by authority [from Allah].
(٣٤) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(34) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٣٥) يُرۡسَلُ عَلَيۡكُمَا شُوَاظٞ مِّن نَّارٖ وَنُحَاسٞ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ
Yursalu ‘alaikumaa shuwaazum min naarinw-wa nuhaasun falaa tantasiraan
(35) There will be sent upon you a flame of fire and smoke, and you will not defend yourselves.
(٣٦) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(36) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٣٧) فَإِذَا ٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتۡ وَرۡدَةٗ كَٱلدِّهَانِ
Fa-izan shaqqatis samaaa’u fakaanat wardatan kaddihaan
(37) And when the heaven is split open and becomes rose-colored like oil –
(٣٨) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(38) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
(٣٩) فَيَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّا يُسۡـَٔلُ عَن ذَنۢبِهِۦٓ إِنسٞ وَلَا جَآنّٞ
Fa-yawma’izil laa yus’alu ‘an zambiheee insunw wa laa jaann
(39) Then on that Day none will be asked about his sin among men or jinn.
(٤٠) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(40) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٤١) يُعۡرَفُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ بِسِيمَٰهُمۡ فَيُؤۡخَذُ بِٱلنَّوَٰصِي وَٱلۡأَقۡدَامِ
Yu’raful mujrimoona biseemaahum fa’yu’khazu binna waasi wal aqdaam
(41) The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet.
(٤٢) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(42) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٤٣) هَٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِي يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ
Haazihee jahannamul latee yukazzibu bihal mujrimoon
(43) This is Hell, which the criminals deny.
(٤٤) يَطُوفُونَ بَيۡنَهَا وَبَيۡنَ حَمِيمٍ ءَانٖ
Yatoofoona bainahaa wa baina hameemim aan
(44) They will go around between it and scalding water, heated [to the utmost degree].
(٤٥) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(45) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٤٦) وَلِمَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ
Wa liman khaafa maqaama rabbihee jannataan
(46) But for he who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens –
(٤٧) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(47) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
(٤٨) ذَوَاتَآ أَفۡنَانٖ
Zawaataaa afnaan
(48) Having [spreading] branches.
(٤٩) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(49) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٥٠) فِيهِمَا عَيۡنَانِ تَجۡرِيَانِ
Feehimaa ‘aynaani tajriyaan
(50) In both of them are two springs, flowing.
(٥١) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(51) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٥٢) فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَٰكِهَةٖ زَوۡجَانِ
Feehimaa min kulli faakihatin zawjaan
(52) In both of them are of every fruit, two kinds.
(٥٣) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(53) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٥٤) مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشِۭ بَطَآئِنُهَا مِنۡ إِسۡتَبۡرَقٖۚ وَجَنَى ٱلۡجَنَّتَيۡنِ دَانٖ
Muttaki’eena ‘alaa furushim bataaa’inuhaa min istabraq; wajanal jannataini daan
(54) [They are] reclining on beds whose linings are of silk brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens is hanging low.
(٥٥) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(55) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٥٦) فِيهِنَّ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرۡفِ لَمۡ يَطۡمِثۡهُنَّ إِنسٞ قَبۡلَهُمۡ وَلَا جَآنّٞ
Feehinna qaasiratut tarfi lam yatmishunna insun qablahum wa laa jaaann
(56) In them are women limiting [their] glances, untouched before them by man or jinni –
(٥٧) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(57) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
(٥٨) كَأَنَّهُنَّ ٱلۡيَاقُوتُ وَٱلۡمَرۡجَانُ
Ka annahunnal yaaqootu wal marjaan
(58) As if they were rubies and coral.
(٥٩) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(59) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٦٠) هَلۡ جَزَآءُ ٱلۡإِحۡسَٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلۡإِحۡسَٰنُ
Hal jazaaa’ul ihsaani illal ihsaan
(60) Is the reward for good [anything] but good?
(٦١) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(61) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٦٢) وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ
Wa min doonihimaa jannataan
(62) And below them both [in excellence] are two [other] gardens –
(٦٣) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(63) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
(٦٤) مُدۡهَآمَّتَانِ
Mudhaaammataan
(64) Dark green [in color].
(٦٥) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(65) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٦٦) فِيهِمَا عَيۡنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ
Feehimaa ‘aynaani nad daakhataan
(66) In both of them are two springs, spouting.
(٦٧) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(67) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٦٨) فِيهِمَا فَٰكِهَةٞ وَنَخۡلٞ وَرُمَّانٞ
Feehimaa faakihatunw wa nakhlunw wa rummaan
(68) In both of them are fruit and palm trees and pomegranates.
(٦٩) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(69) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٧٠) فِيهِنَّ خَيۡرَٰتٌ حِسَانٞ
Feehinna khairaatun hisaan
(70) In them are good and beautiful women –
(٧١) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(71) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
(٧٢) حُورٞ مَّقۡصُورَٰتٞ فِي ٱلۡخِيَامِ
Hoorum maqsooraatun fil khiyaam
(72) Fair ones reserved in pavilions –
(٧٣) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(73) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
(٧٤) لَمۡ يَطۡمِثۡهُنَّ إِنسٞ قَبۡلَهُمۡ وَلَا جَآنّٞ
Lam yatmis hunna insun qablahum wa laa jaaann
(74) Untouched before them by man or jinni –
(٧٥) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(75) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
(٧٦) مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ رَفۡرَفٍ خُضۡرٖ وَعَبۡقَرِيٍّ حِسَانٖ
Muttaki’eena ‘alaa rafrafin khudrinw wa ‘abqariyyin hisaan
(76) Reclining on green cushions and beautiful fine carpets.
(٧٧) فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
(77) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
(٧٨) تَبَٰرَكَ ٱسۡمُ رَبِّكَ ذِي ٱلۡجَلَٰلِ وَٱلۡإِكۡرَامِ
Tabaarakasmu Rabbika Zil-Jalaali wal-Ikraam
(78) Blessed is the name of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.
